Clearinghouse

The clearinghouse for character education information has become part of the ND Learning Resource Center and is called the Character Education Collection. Existing materials of the Learning Resource Center that pertained to character education were transferred to this collection and new additions were ordered. Materials are available to use with students in the classroom, for professional development, and for information in program concerns. The collection include books and video tapes which are available on a free loan basis to all North Dakota schools and community organizations concerned with character education. Patrons are responsible for postage.

The clearinghouse also coordinates Collegial study groups. For example, schools may use this opportunity to learn more about character education or restitution. Collegial study groups allow teachers to explore and direct their own research and discussion groups into topics of interest to the staff without leaving the school.
