Pricing Adult Meals |
|
Adult meal prices must be high enough to compensate for the paid reimbursement and the commodity value that USDA does not provide for these meals. The paid reimbursement and commodity value rates increase each school year; adult meal prices may need to be adjusted upward accordingly. The paid reimbursement for SY 12/13 is 27 cents and the commodity value is 22.75 cents. This means the adult meal price must be AT LEAST 50 cents higher than your highest student meal cost. If your school is receiving the extra 6 Cents, it needs to be calculated into the adult price as well. To simplify money transactions and add leeway for future value increases, we recommend that the adult price be set 60 cents higher than the highest student price. |
