Safe & Drug Free Schools Professional Development

The Coordinated School Health unit is responsible to oversee the Safe & Drug Free Schools program. In addition to our regulatory role in monitoring for federal compliance, our greater role is to provide technical assistance, support, professional development, curriculum and resources for individual building and district needs to maintain healthy and safe students and schools. Technical assistance, via the various methods of professional development, can be provided via email, phone, on site consultation /presentation and can be requested by contacting our office for any relevant issue.

Title IX Training

Annual training is provided to LEA administrators through a collaborative partnership between North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, Career & Technical Education and North Dakota Council for Educational Leaders (CEL). The training focuses on Title IX compliance to include bullying, harassment and hazing. The presenter is from the Interwest Equity Assistance Center in Denver, Colorado. The Educational Equity Center provides training and technical assistance within the larger context of school improvement to public school personnel, school board members, students, parents, and other community members.
