Dr. Wayne G. Sanstead, State Superintendent, approved the adoption of the state achievement standards following a process that sought the input of statewide special educators and content specialists. These state achievement standards become the basis for the scoring of student performance in science on the North Dakota Alternate Assessment-1. The North Dakota Alternate Assessment-1 measures student achievement in terms of the state’s content standards and alternate achievement standards for students with significant cognitive disabilities. These students represent approximately one percent of the state’s total student population. |
