Press Release – Flood Conditions

March 23, 2009

Gov. John Hoeven is reminding school Superintendents they can in their discretion cancel school due to flooding conditions. Superintendents are authorized to cancel school based on flood conditions when necessary for safety reasons, and also to provide assistance to communities with filling and stacking sandbags. We understand that some school districts have exhausted the number of days set aside for severe weather and the Governor will waive school days canceled due to flooding.

The Governor’s Office has also issued a press release regarding the state’s flood conditions.
