North Dakota Participates in Two Race to the Top Assessment Development Consortia

U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan announced the award of $160 million to the SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) and $170 million to the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC).  North Dakota is a participating member in each of these two consortia.  The grants will be used to develop a K-12 assessment system aligned to the Common Core State Standards in English language arts and mathematics.
