Types and Locations of Public Kindergarten Programs Reported in North Dakota

 

Reported Funding Sources for Districts Employing Full-day, Every Day Kindergarten

 

If Full Foundation aid Were Available

Those schools not offering a full-day, every day kindergarten program were asked if a full foundation aid payment were available, would they offer a full-day, every day program in the future. The responses were:

  • Yes = 145
  • No = 16

Schools responding as “no” were given the option to explain their rationale. Some of these reasons included: funding, school board decision, and the district would only offer it if they had to.

  • Gazelle Readiness Test
  • Group Reading Assessment and Diagnostic Evaluation (GRADE)
  • Kindergarten Initial Assessment
  • Kindergarten Readiness Test (KRT)
  • Metropolitan Readiness Test (MRT)
  • Phelps Kindergarten Readiness Scale (PKRS)
  • Phelps Kindergarten Readiness Scale II (PKRS-II)
  • Scott Foresman Assessments

Please note: a kindergarten readiness assessment must be administered annually to meet school accreditation requirements.The department does not approve kindergarten tests. Schools choose a standardized readiness assessment that meets their needs and has been normed within the last five years.
