General

Early Reading First Literacy Coaching

  • Overview
    • Early Reading First teachers receive ongoing support from literacy coaches. They coach and model teachers to build in-house expertise to embed staff development within daily practice for effective professional development.
    • Literacy coaches observe classrooms and provide feedback, conduct demonstrations, assist with administration of formal assessments, and facilitate structured sharing sessions. Literacy coaches use observational tools and checklists aligned with the objectives of SEL to work with lead and assistant teachers as staff improves their practice and their abilities of self-reflection.
